Tea Shop

Out of a desire to craft many small procedural tools in Houdini - including those for the tablecloths, plants, napkins, dishes, tea cups, tea pots, pillows, curtains, and many of the pastries - I designed this tea shop in Unreal Engine 5, based heavily upon several I used to visit as a child.

Tea, more than many things, is associated with comfort. It conjures images of warmth and darkness and couches and books and sweets. When we brew tea, it forces us to slow down. Drinking tea, one is meant to sip and savor the flavor; by extension, they savor the moment. I don't think these things are unrelated at all. Often, we can only appreciate life's comforts when taking a purposeful moment to do so.
